18 weeks

After two weeks of taking this picture in our bedroom, I can see that I really need to make finding curtains a priority. We did have some in here until we got a new comforter for our bed and the red curtains we had didn’t match. The bare windows really haven’t bothered me until I had to look at them in these photos. So, add that to my ever-growing to-do list.

Pregnancy Highlights

How Far Along: 18 Weeks

Size of baby: 5 1/2 inches long and 7 ounces, Baby Lane 3.0 is about the length of a bell pepper.

Maternity Clothes: Mostly. Allow me a tangent here. Why do so many maternity tops have horizontal stripes on them? Horizontal stripes are not flattering on most people anyway, but then you add in a rapidly expanding belly (among other body parts) and there is just nothing attractive about it. Maybe I’m in the minority, but I don’t really want to draw attention to the hugeness that is my mid-section. And don’t get me started on maternity jeans. Is it just impossible to make a pair that aren’t mom jeans?

Gender: We found out yesterday that it’s a boy! I’ve never been so excited about being outnumbered before.

Movement: The kicks and movements are getting stronger and more evident every day. I love it!

Sleep: Oh, precious, glorious sleep! I think I must be storing up for the newborn months, because I could sleep all the time. I am so thankful Grayson still takes a good afternoon nap every day, because that means I get one too!

What I miss: Caffeine! And maybe having clothes that fit right.

Cravings: I’m still craving salty and sour. I couldn’t find Hot Fries at my grocery store the other day, so I had to settle for Funyuns. I have to say they hit the spot!

Symptoms: I’m feeling pretty good these days. Heartburn has kicked in, so Tums are my best friend! I’m sure it has nothing to do with the Hot Fries and Funyuns.

Best moment of the week: Finding out we are having another boy!

  1. SOOO exciting that you are having another boy!! How fun!! I'm with you on the horizontal stripes. And maternity seemed with me I either found ones that came up to my rib cage or showed an ever expanding plumbers crack. So I just stayed away from jeans. Yoga pants were my friend. :)

Tell me what you think...go on, I can take it!
